This scale model, designed and manufactured with an extraordinary level of detail, is located in the Roque de los Muchachos Visitor Center. It combines the best of traditional craftsmanship with the most advanced digital technologies.<\/p>\n

With a diameter of 2.5 meters, this topographic representation offers a faithful view of the island. Visitors can observe both the volcanic landscape of the park and the nearby towns.<\/b>. But what truly sets it apart is the incorporation of augmented reality, which provides interactive information about the local geology, volcanic formations, flora, fauna, and other key aspects of the natural environment.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The creation of this augmented reality topographic model is a true example of how traditional crafts and cutting-edge technology<\/a> They can be combined to achieve extraordinary results<\/b>. Furthermore, the base of the model was made of polyurethane foam, a lightweight and resistant material.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was first carved using CNC machining, and then refined by hand to capture the most subtle details of La Palma's topography. In addition, 3D printing was used to recreate complex elements, such as rock formations, while the water surfaces were simulated using epoxy resins.<\/p>\n

This meticulous process resulted in an extremely accurate model from a topographical point of view. As a result, l<\/strong>The attention to detail in the terrain allows visitors to have a complete view of the Caldera de Taburiente National Park and its surroundings<\/b>. The logistical challenge: transport and installation<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Transporting a 2.5-meter diameter scale model to the remote Roque de los Muchachos Visitor Centre It was one of the biggest challenges of the project<\/strong>. Furthermore, given its fragility and precision, it required special packaging to ensure its protection during the journey, without exceeding the dimensions of the truck, whose available space was 252 x 252 cm.\u00a0<\/p>\n

To solve this challenge, We designed a custom transport crate <\/b>that would secure the model without significantly increasing the volume, taking advantage of every centimeter of space and avoiding any damage.<\/p>\n

Once on La Palma, the installation at the Visitor Center was also complex due to its location, far from the main towns and with limited access. Despite these difficulties, the Ia Manufacturing team was able to count on the support of the center's staff, who actively collaborated in the installation process.\u00a0<\/p>\n
