Today we present this interactive augmented reality model of a refinery, which was manufactured for the company Engineering Idea.

This engineering company came to us looking for a model that would allow them to show their clients all the technologies they regularly work with, and they decided to trust us to do the job.

After several meetings in which it was established how the work would be carried out, the IA Manufacturing team got down to work.

The first step was to model the refinery based on the topographic plans.

After that, 3D printing technology was chosen to manufacture the buildings with the utmost detail.

Then, they are mounted on a system of high-brightness screens, which illuminate the different parts of the refinery.

The visual arts department of IA Manufacturing created the effects for the rear projection of this interactive model.

An augmented reality application was used, with photo-realistic texturing that shows the vehicles traveling through the plant, staff, and even the surrounding environment, to enhance the experience.

Finally, the visual effects of the model were synchronized with the augmented reality application, thus providing the user with a complete refinery experience.

The final challenge was to manufacture the entire interactive model system so that it could be transported anywhere with minimal effort. Therefore, all parts of the furniture susceptible to breakage were reinforced, and a custom-made transport crate was manufactured.

Meeting the delivery deadline and expectations, both the IA Manufacturing team and the Idea Ingenieria team were very satisfied with the result.
